North Manchester General Hospital

Multiple demolition and civil engineering works at the North Manchester General Hospital site.  Works included:

Demolition of D8 Boiler House

Demolition of Infectious Diseases Building

Demolition of Ante-Natal Building

Demolition of Doctors Residence Building and Gym

Removal of RAAC panels at various live buildings within the hospital campus

Bellmouth road construction (major Civils works)

Maybe worth mentioning the following measures in the write up:

Risk of causing disruption to hospital operations. Site was set up at the weekend to avoid causing disruption. HGV’s delivering excavators, welfare units etc. were also programmed in for the weekend. All other HGV movements were carried out prior to 7.30am. This was all agreed pre-commencement.

Contractor’s not allowed to use Hospital’s water supply. It is for this reason that we have purchased a number of 10,000 litre water tanks. This enables us to fill the water tanks at our depot and transport to site for use as dust suppression.
