Gladstone Docks

Freeley delivered controlled, high-precision concrete excavation and breakout works, executed with the care, expertise, and professionalism that define our reputation.

The project began with a comprehensive dilapidation survey, accurately recording the condition of all adjacent structures and surrounding concrete surfaces prior to commencement. This measured approach ensured existing assets were protected while works progressed safely and efficiently.

Concrete was precision saw-cut to its full depth, with cuts undertaken to a maximum depth of 900mm. This exceeded standard practice and was intentionally implemented to safeguard the structural integrity of the remaining dock, eliminating the risk of damage or undermining during breakout operations.

Full-depth concrete breakout was then completed in accordance with the borehole data provided, ensuring controlled and complete removal. All arisings were responsibly transported to a segregated crushing facility, where materials were processed, certified to 6F2 standard, and stockpiled for future reuse — supporting both operational efficiency and sustainable construction practices.

Throughout the works, robust dust suppression measures were maintained, supported by full site preliminaries including coordinated deliveries and collections, continuous supervision, welfare facilities, site compound provision, and all necessary temporary works.
